Starting From The Bottom
I know that this post is pretty overdue but I wanted to gather my thoughts before I post this. I always wanted to start a menswear blog where I talk about menswear and the lifestyle of a modern man. I was never able to because life got in the way. I was so concentrated on school and graduating with a degree and get a full time job to survive. So, I did that and graduated from Michigan State University on May 3rd, 2013 with a Degree of Bachelor of Arts in Advertising. During the months that I started looking for a job in the advertising field, I was starting to realize if that is what I want to do with the rest of my life. I was so comfortable thinking that getting a full time job, working 8am-5am was the ideal life because that was what all my friends are doing. I was so caught up to that, that I forgot about my dream and my passion were.
Growing up, I was a quiet kid. I did not talk much due to my lisp and I did not want to be made fun of. I used clothes as a way to express myself. Throughout my years of school, I would get compliments on how I dress and how people wants to know where I get my clothes from. I always dream of one day working for GQ, reporting about menswear and going to fashion shows. And that is what I want to do with my life. That is what makes me happy. I was not going to let my dream die nor am I going to sit around and wait for my dream. This is what I want to do and I am going to get it. I don't mind starting from the bottom.
The reason I start this blog is to let people see what a modern man in this time is like. I hope to inspired my reader with my blog posts with menswear, how-tos, fashion, life, and everything else in between. I want to show my readers how to look expensive while on a budget because I am just like my readers. I am a recent graduate working part-time as a server at a Japanese restaurant. I am living on a budget but that does not mean that I cannot look expensive. My blog will inspire my reader by taking what is "in" right now and getting the same look for a much cheaper price. My motto for my blog is to "Shop Smart, Look Expensive".
